At The Music Workshop we are in full swing with our Summer Adventures!  Our littlest students have been enjoying their “Busy Days” and playing “Peek-a-Boo”.   Others of us have been exploring “Creatures in My Backyard” and “Creatures at The Ocean”!  What fun we had sounding like owls….and pretending to ride our boats!

Tell Me a Tale – 4 years to 7 years old

Middleboro Location: July 21st-July 25th, 9:30 am-12 Noon

West Bridgewater Location:  Aug. 18th-Aug. 21st, 1 pm-3:30 pm
Through storytelling, your child will develop an early awareness of rhythm, movement, singing, and drama. Each lesson features a new tale from around the world, explored through multi-instrument and multi-cultural elements. All told, it’s an around-the-imagination adventure of the greatest stories from Europe, Malaysia, South Africa, and more. Home Materials include: Book, CD, pair of Lumi Sticks, and Poster.

Around the World-4 years to 7 years old

Middleboro Location: Aug. 18th-Aug. 22nd, 1 pm-3:30pm

West Bridgewater Location: July 21st-July 25th, 9:30 am-12 Noon
Take an imaginary trip—exploring the exotic cultures of Germany, Japan, Africa, England, and Mexico. Play the native instruments. Drape sheets over cardboard boxes and sing over the German mountain tops. Toss peanuts on the floor and bring good luck to one’s home in this Japanese custom. Send messages in Nigeria with “talking drums.” Home Materials include: CD, Arts and Craft materials,Picture Folder set, and Travel Bag.

Peek-A-Boo! I Love You!-newborn to 1.5 years old; Fridays, 10:30 am in West Bridgewater; Class Dates: 5/30,6/6,6/13,6/20 and 6/27.
More than just a curious story, Mother Goose games like peek-a-boo help your baby understand language. In this special camp, uncover more ways to say “I love you” using American Sign Language, soap bubbles, and parent-baby dances. Plus, you can meet with other newborns and families in the community and learn how music improves the child development process. Home Materials include: Book, CD, Duck Wash Mitt, Baby Duck Gertie Ball, and Poster.

Busy Days-newborn to 1.5 years old; Tuesdays, 4:15 pm in Middleboro; Class Dates: 6/3,6/10,6/17,6/24 and 7/1 
Set your baby’s day to classical music. With a little more Tchaikovsky in your “Twinkle, Twinkle” repertoire you’ll discover new ways your baby benefits from the classics as you both develop an appreciation for the world’s most respected music. Each lesson features new activites and songs you can sing for all the places you go together-the store, the playground, the doctor, and more. Creatures in My Backyard- 1.5 years to 3 years old; Tuesdays, 10:15 or Wednesdays, 10:15 in Middleboro. Tuesday Classes begin 6/3 and Wednesday Classes begin 6/4
Give your child something to sing about in her own backyard. Be the flower from the “seed’s” perspective. Run and jump in rain puddles made from hula hoops. Snack on whole wheat mini-waffles dipped in honey, just like a real honeycomb. Shoo real flies and sing “Shoo Fly.”Home Materials include: CD, Bunny Puppet, and Picture Folders set.

Creatures at the Ocean- 1.5 years to 3 years old; Fridays, 9:30 am in West Bridgewater; Class Dates: 5/30, 6/6, 6/13, 6/20, and 6/27
Sing sailor songs and make the ocean count. “Five little seashells lying on the shore: Swish! Went the waves and then there were four.” Make homemade kites and your own fish sandwiches using fish-shaped bread and P.B. and J.Materials include: CD, Seashell Castanet, Storycard set and Picture Folder set.

On the Road-3 years to 5 years old; Tuesdays, 1:30 pm or Wednesdays, 11:15 am in Middleboro; Tuesday Class begins 6/3 and Wednesday Class Begins 6/4
Re-live your childhood, with your child. Every song is likely to revive a memory from your summer’s past. Play Eye Spy and find shapes in the clouds to pass the time. Take imaginary trips in a bus named “Van Go” to fun-filled vacation destinations such as the carnival, a summer cottage, and the beach. Home Materials include: Book, CD, Frog Guiro, and Poster.

Confetti Days!-3 years to 5 years old; Fridays, 11:30 am in West Bridgewater; Class Dates: 5/30, 6/6, 6/13, 6/20 and 6/27
Throw a new party every day. Ride a carousel inside the classroom. Play a balancing game and walk on the web of ropes. Learn colors and sing the Spanish song “De Colores,” “Pop Goes the Weasel,” and “Looby Loo.” Home Materials include: CD, pair of Confetti Bells, Story Kit and Picture Folder set.

Kindermusik Imagine That!-3 years to 5 years

In this class,  your preschooler uses his real experience playing to create imaginative, story-telling scenarios with music. Each week provides your preschooler one uninterrupted session of imaginative play that’s guided in a very specific, sequential way with a special Family Sharing Time with you in the last 15 minutes of class.

 Kindermusik Our Time -18 months to 3 years
Can you sound like an elephant? Or hop like a bunny? Our Time encourages your child to uncover an engaging musical world while building confidence, self-control and communications skills. Singing, imitating sounds, rhyming and object identification foster language skills. Creative movement to various musical moods develops a sense of balance, timing and spatial awareness. Listening and turn-taking encourage blossoming social skills.

Kindermusik Our Time is designed for children 1½ years to 3 years of age. Along with an accompanying parent or caregiver, children meet weekly for a 45-minute class and enjoy singing, moving, listening and interacting socially, and playing simple instruments. Exploration Time encourages a child’s discovery of specially designed instruments, textures, sounds and movements; language skills are fostered with singing, sound imitation, and vocal play; Music & Movement Story Time encourages emergent literacy skills; and creative dancing affirms a child’s urge to move.

Kindermusik Village a class for Newborns to 18 months and a caregiver.

Imagine your child swinging softly in a blanket or dancing with you around a maypole. Village provides a delightful environment unlike any other. Through a unique blend of multi-level activities that includes creative movement, vocal play, object and instrument exploration, and a colorful literature component, your baby’s growth and development are stimulated and all of his senses engaged.Kindermusik Village, for children newborn to 1½ years of age, incorporates the most current research on early childhood development and provides families a special place for learning and connecting with other parents and babies through music and movement.
